I’m not sure where the last few months went, but the end of 2022 is finally in sight. Are you excited for the new year, like me, or was 2022 a good one for you? Whatever the case, 2023 is nearly here and it’s a great chance to turn over a new page (cheesy, I know).
One of my 2022 goals was to read every day, even if it was just a chapter of a book. When I finished a book (and remembered) I added it to my Pinterest board which can be found here. I finished 25 books this year, and while it’s hardly an impressive figure I wanted to focus on the habit of reading rather than the quantity of books I could get through. As much as I love reading, for years I’ve either gone mad on books and devoured them or not bothered at all, usually because I told myself I didn’t have time to get sucked into reading. Let’s face it, reading is a great way to procrastinate. So, this year I built reading time into every day, giving me designated chill time and some great worlds to visit.
Most of the books I read were fiction, but I sprinkled a few non-fiction titles in there too. Here’s the complete list, if you’re interested, ranked in order of preference.

As you can see, Leigh Bardugo was popular with me and yes – I’ve watched and loved the show on Netflix. A lot of the fiction books I read were a similar style, being young adult, fantasy or both. Next year, I’ll try and branch out more, but I’m quite pleased with what I read this year!
